When you buy a new home, there are a few things you should do right away once you get the keys that are both inexpensive and will help you get acclimated to the home quicker.

The first thing you should do once you get the keys to your new home is to have them switched out. You don’t know who might have a spare key to your home, and it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Another thing you should do right away is clean your air filter. Who knows when the previous owners changed it last? Putting a new filter in ensures you are breathing clean air in your new home.

Change all the toilet seats.

Next, change all the toilet seats. They’re pretty inexpensive and another good idea for sanitary reasons.

Additionally, summer is right around the corner. Get that A/C unit serviced, vacuumed out, and running well for the months ahead.

Check your attic as we start getting more rain to make sure there are no issues or leaks. You’d be surprised at what you can find if you wait too long.

Finally, take care of your refrigerator. It’s an expensive item that we kind of take for granted. If you clean out the coils, it will extend the life of your unit.

I appreciate you taking the time to check this out. If you have any questions or are thinking about buying or selling, give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
